This morning: Fun adventures in the dark :)

For instance, here is one activity we did this morning. We started with fun in the dark with a Blacklight on (I got mine at Walmart for about 10 bucks, it simply plugs into an outlet as is)
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Lights-of-America-24-Fluorescent-Blacklight-Fixture/16879944) and random items that are neon colored or glow in the dark -pompoms, pipe cleaners, straws-  (thank you to my local DOLLAR TREE and their AWESOME craft supply).
Experiment along with your children, go on a "neon hunt" around your house and try to gather 5 items, or 10 and see if they glow. Older children would love that too. Count them together (sneaking in some math in there). For instance, with pompoms, you can practice letters, numbers, shapes. so many "illicit" learning possibilities :)

I recently got the glow in the dark dinosaurs (as well as sea/farm animals) at the dollar gin at Target. Castalia LOVES the dinosaurs and puts them to bed in their "Nest" (a dusting rag) and then says "Good night Dinosaurs, I love you!" Awww...

And the added some WASHABLE (always the key!) neon paint (got mine -with a coupon- at Michaels, originally $5.99 I think. If you have a Hobby Lobby close by they have some too it looks like: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/store/item.aspx?ItemId=159832

You can get good coupons for Michaels and Hobby Lobby by singing up on their sites. Usually 40, 50% off one item at least or check out retailmenot.com (for printed or online coupon), good reliable site in my experience (and I have quite a history with good deals I must say :P)

Anyways, $15 well spent I think, as I am hoping it will be countless hours of fun! :P She absolutely loved squeezing the paint out of the bottles!

Castalia, decided to make her favorite "a beautiful butterfly" (she loves "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" book)

Well, this one I am not too sure what it is...But she knows :P
